Sublette County Unified Fire (SCUF) responded to a structure fire at a single-family residence in the Cora area on Tuesday, June 9, 2026. Firefighters made a rapid interior attack and quickly knocked down the fire, containing it primarily to the second floor near the area of origin and preventing more extensive damage to the residence and saving the home. One occupant of the home sustained minor injuries from the fire and received medical attention. The cause of the fire remains under investigation. SCUF is a volunteer organization. Firefighters from Pinedale, Daniel and Kendall responded to the call. SCUF has 81 volunteer firefighters in six battalions across the county.
