Bat Walks are a Bat Conservation International (BCI) program to introduce communities to bats that live in their area. BCI is an international, nongovernmental organization working to conserve the world’s bats and their habitats through conservation, research, and education efforts. During the Bat Walk, participants took a slow stroll through a local park and learn about the bat species present in the area. The leader, Noah Chutz, used an acoustic device to detect the species that were calling nearby, and have an opportunity to possibly see a bat as they swoop by for a drink from nearby water sources.
