Mary Alice Boettcher, of Pinedale, passed away on October 21, 2024. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 29, at 11:00AM at Our Saviorfs Lutheran Church in Pinedale. A viewing will take place Monday evening, October 28th, from 4-6PM at Covill Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Pinedale Cemetery.

Mary Boettcher, 88, of Pinedale, Wyoming died peacefully on Monday October 21, 2024 at the Pinedale Sublette Center.
Mary Alice (Hopkins) Boettcher was born on December 12, 1935 to Tommie and Mamie (Honse) Hopkins in Vienna, Missouri. After moving to St. Louis at age twelve and completing the 8th grade, Mary took her first job at Woolworth's department store in downtown St. Louis. She held other jobs during her teen years until she taught herself how to type in order to accept a position at Bituminous Insurance Agency. She married Richard Boettcher on January 21, 1956 at St. James Church. Their journey together took them to Casper, Wyoming in 1961 to begin a new life adventure, finding a new place to call home and raise their family.
Throughout her life, Mary was a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. While raising her daughters, she operated an in-home daycare. In 1970 she returned to retail employment, working at Gibson's department store in Casper, retiring in 1984 as a department manager. While in her 40s she also studied hard to earn her high school diploma through the GED program.
Mary was known for her quiet and serene spirit, grounded in her deep faith and trust in her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was baptized and confirmed at Mount Hope Lutheran Church in 1963. Mary and Rich moved to Pinedale in July of 2015, where they felt right at home. Their faith was a big part of their life and they were welcomed with open arms at Our Saviorfs Lutheran Church; adopted as part of this wonderful church family.
Mary was quick to lend a patient and listening ear to anyone who needed it. She had a special place in her heart for anyone experiencing adversity, especially children. Throughout her life, her family brought her the greatest joy. Despite facing significant health challenges, including rheumatoid arthritis, Mary never let adversity define her. Survivors include her husband Richard of Pinedale; daughters: Cynthia (Kent) Beune of Dodge, NE and Deborah (Mike) Vickrey of Pinedale; grandchildren: Jason (Paige) Vickrey of Kimberly, ID, Kelsea (Clayton) Foster of Pinedale, Christine (Nathan) Sieler of Omaha, NE, and Anna (Craig) Gutz of Laurel, NE; great]grandchildren: Weston, Hailey, Harper and Wyatt Vickrey; Kynlee and Henry Foster; and Jenna Gutz; sisters Refa Sawyer and Janet Roth; and many nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents; and siblings: Ora Copeland, Cecil Spratley, Johnnie Hopkins, Thomas Hopkins, Netta Hopkins, Maudie Ehmke Kreitner and Frank Pointer. Funeral Services will be held Tuesday, October 29th at 11:00 AM at Our Saviorfs Lutheran Church, in Pinedale. A luncheon will be hosted by the Church after interment at the Pinedale Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, October 28th from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at Covill Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in her honor to True Care Resource Center in Casper, Wyoming or to the Jae Foundation here in Pinedale.
