A funeral service for Jesse Dean Adams will be held Monday August 26th at 11:00 a.m. at the Pinedale Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints meetinghouse. Interment will follow the service in the Pinedale Cemetery.
Obituary – Jesse Dean Adams
It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of our dear father, son, brother, husband, nephew, uncle, and friend, Jesse Dean Adams.
Unexpectedly and sadly, Jesse left this earth on August 19, 2024 in Pinedale WY. He had his last breath in the Wind River Mountains, surrounded by the great outdoors and fresh air that he loved, and in which he spent so much time.
With broken hearts we come together to say goodbye to him. Or rather, not goodbye, but "see you later."
During the last several years Jesse fought so hard to give his family and friends the love and dedication they deserved and truly loved his family so deeply. He was always striving to do better and never wanted to be a burden to anyone he came across. He was strong in his convictions, though quiet at times, was one of the most passionate people you could ever meet. The decisions he made were done in what he thought was the best for everyone. We truly believe and feel that his decision to leave this earth was done with complete love and apology in his heart.
Jesse was born to his parents Russ Adams and Celeste Grossman on September 30th, 1984 in Payson, Utah. He was the fourth child of Russ and Celeste. At the age of 1 year old Russ and Celeste moved Jesse and his 4 siblings (Jamie, Cy, Isaac, and Amanda) to the small town of Pinedale, WY.
Pinedale is where Jesse lived most of his life, apart from a 2 year span where he served a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Belo Horizonte, Brazil.
Jesse was a quick and rambunctious child. He loved to climb - would sit upon his mom’s shoulders while she breastfed his little sister, and was found more than a handful of times on top of the piano, bookshelves, or in the cupboards searching for butter (yes butter) which he ate by the handful. He was often found jumping off the roof onto the trampoline and doing multiple flips and tricks as his friends and siblings watched. From his very first adventure out with his dad in the vast wilderness that surrounds Pinedale, WY, Jesse fell in love with the great outdoors and began his passion for hunting. Over the years he spent most of his Septembers, Octobers, and Novembers (hunting season) venturing through the Wind River Wilderness including Elk Ridge of the Upper Green River area, Swift Creek, up above Timberline on Antoinette Peak, and Elk Hart Park. These were just some of Jesse’s favorite places and he was often, if not always, accompanied by his dad, Russ Adams. On these hunting trips, Jesse and Russ created quite the bond and were truly best friends. Many of Jesse’s favorite memories happened in those mountains.
Jesse was an avid sports lover. He played baseball in his early youth; and through his high school years ran track, played football and basketball. Basketball being his sport of choice. Jesse was known for high scoring, quick speed (earning the nickname "Turbo"), and his extraordinary ability to question the referees on most calls. He built some of his best friendships on the basketball court and had a true love for the game.
Jesse was sarcastically funny and so loving. He loved to jam out to his music in the little green Honda and was always dressed to impress. His collection of shoes (which started in high school) is more than any one person should have, but he wore each and every pair with pride. Not only did Jesse have amazing sense of style and knew how to put together some incredible outfits, he was one handsome man, with a killer smile, and an amazing head of hair. His natural white spots where pigmentation was missing from his golden brown hair being one of the things so many remember about him.
While serving his mission in Brazil, Jesse met a beautiful young woman, Annie Aredes, whom he returned to Brazil for after completing his mission, and then married. They were sealed for time and eternity in the São Paulo, Brazil LDS Temple on June 13th, 2008.
Together they moved back to Pinedale and began to build their family. During that time, they welcomed 3 wonderful boys, all who just happened to be born during hunting season. Gabriel Boyd came first, followed by his little brothers Noah Dean and Luke Russell. As a family they enjoyed playing games, getting outdoors by kayaking, camping and hiking, as well as traveling to Brazil to visit family and friends. All 3 of the boys will tell you that Jesse was the best dad ever and that they will always cherish the memories they built together. Most recently, going to the AJR concert (which was one of Jesse’s favorite bands) and spending a couple days in Utah. Just Jesse and his boys. He loved them endlessly and they were his absolute pride and joy. Each son was dedicated a special nickname Gabezooka (Gabe), No-No (Noah), and Lukelele (Luke). In return they lovingly called him Choppa.
While Jesse didn’t attend college after high school, he loved to learn and was always reading books and expanding his education and knowledge in whatever way possible. He developed a strong love for politics, and had an incredible understanding in the goodness of humanity and put so much of his heart into all that he did. If Jesse was one thing, he was determined. The things he found important became his passion and he would give everything he had to make sure his passions were shared.
Jesse is survived by his boys, Gabriel (12), Noah (11), and Luke (8), along with their mother, Annie Adams of Pinedale, Wyoming; his mother and step dad Celeste and Scott Grossman of Pinedale, WY; his dad and step mom, Russ and Dawanna Adams of Streator, Illinois; his siblings Jamie (Jeremy) Jones of Las Vegas, Nevada, Cy (Kate) Adams of Pinedale, Isaac (Stephanie) Adams of Richmond, Virginia, Amanda (Craig) Hadfield of Pinedale, WY; step siblings Anné Grossman and Byron Grossman of Streator, Illinois; and half-brother Shane Adams of Smithfield, Utah. He is also survived by his 7 nieces and 5 nephews who love him so unconditionally- they will all miss Uncle Jesse’s jokes, laughter, and playful personality.
Jesse was undoubtedly loved and so incredibly cherished. He is greatly missed and will forever leave a lasting impression on all of us. We have complete faith that he is at peace and his earthly battles have been lifted from his heart.
