Obituary – Paul Anspach
December 13, 2022
Paul Anspach, 82, passed away December 8, 2022 at his home in Henderson, Nevada following a two-year battle with Stage 4 prostate cancer. Paul was born in Wolf Point, Montana, October 1940, the eldest child of James and Wilma Anspach. Paul lived most of his life in Lander and Pinedale, Wyoming, moving to Arizona in 2005 and to Nevada in 2022. He took great pride in his service to the Navy 1957-1961, as an equipment operator in a construction battalion. Following his service, he attended college in Thatcher, Arizona, and worked developing springs for livestock water, and later worked in Lander as a heavy equipment operator, worked for U.S. Steel at the iron ore mine on South Pass, and did commercial painting for Orin Roper, a contractor in Lander. He eventually moved to Pinedale where he drove truck for Pat Johnson and then worked for the Pinedale area telephone company for many years, and then in 2002 moved to Lyman, Wyoming to work for Union Telephone in Mountain View. In his retirement he chose to continue driving truck as long as he was able, driving for BTI and Steve Sharp Transportation. He loved to travel and trailered twice to Alaska and once across the United States, visiting nearly every state. In later years he enjoyed recounting the trips from the pictures and journals Ann kept.
Paul is survived by, and sorely missed by, his wife Ann, three children, Paul/Buck (Christy), David (Meghann) and Dallas, and a step-daughter, Jamie, and grandchildren, Joe, Megan, Scarlett, Alzada, Ashley and Heidi. His grandchildren were a source of great pride and joy. He is also survived by his sisters Betty Weber Harris and Judy Gillette, and his brother Allen.
