Book Signing by Mary Budd Flitner Oct. 4 in Daniel
New book: MY RANCH, TOO: A Wyoming Memoir

Sublette County Library/Big Piney Branch, and friends and family of Mary Budd Flitner, a Wyoming author with strong Sublette County ties, will host a book reading and signing for her new book MY RANCH, TOO: A Wyoming Memoir on Thursday, October 4th from 5-6:30 p.m. at the Joe Hausen Library in the Green River Bar in Daniel, Wyoming.
Flitner has been a prominent rancher in Wyoming for more than fifty years. She is the author of articles in High Country News as well as various Wyoming and Montana newspapers. Her recollections on a lifetime of Wyoming ranching begins with the story of her great grandfather, Daniel Budd, who in 1878 drove a herd of cattle into Wyoming Territory in what is now Sublette County. Four generations later, Mary grew up on the same ranch near Big Piney. After she married husband, Stan, she moved from her childhood ranch home to the Diamond Tail Ranch in the Big Horn Basin.
While the cowboy life evokes romantic images of handsome men moving droves of stampeding cattle through perilous conditions fraught with risk and adventure, Mary offers an authentic story of ranch life with all of its experiences and challenges woven together with the ties that bind she and her family to the land she loves.
Books are currently available at the Cowboy Shop in Pinedale, Wyoming. Appetizers and books will be for sale at the reading. Plan to wear your cowboy hat. We’ll see you there!
