Fishing Report – Sept. 1, 2017

The fishing in our area is turning from hot summer to cool fall. Leaves are changing, hunters are out pounding the hills, fall spawning fish are staging, and days are getting shorter. This truly is one of the best times of the year to live in Wyoming!!!
Green River: The Green is still flowing well above average and the fish are becoming a little more inconsistent than a week ago. Dry fly fishing is only finding a short afternoon window. The underwater world has been the most productive and try and pick a day with a little weather in the sky---big old browns like to hide from the sun, so unless there is an eclipse soon, look for a cloudy day!!!
New Fork River The New Fork has been off the radar for a few weeks with our shop. The fishing seems to be better on the Green, unless you hit it just right. Don't get us wrong, we are still talking about the New Fork, so it always fishes good. Streamers and dry dropper rigs are still working best - flows are low and it's a little tough fishing and floating when you run over the top of the pools!! Get the rigs out in front of you and have a little stealth game!! The big boys are still in there!
Pinedale need 2 knows: Best streamer of the week: Articulation Nation! Best dry fly of the week: Red Chubby. Upgrade the size Best nymph of the week: Really, which one doesn't work!! Best new fly rod! Just buy another one- u may need it sometime Best place to eat in town: check out the Golf course!! Food and price point is killer Best eclipse moment: the whole thing!! I hope you didn't miss it!!! Best river jams: this week it was Alan Jackson! Who knew
Check out the 2 Rivers Emporium website and store front!! We have lots of days this fall to get you out on the water! River space clears up when everyone goes hunting!
