Green River Valley Cattlemen's Association Annual Meeting Feb. 26 & 27

The annual meeting of the Green River Valley Cattlemen's Association will be held on Friday & Saturday, February 26 & 27, 2016. Meetings convene at 1PM at the Marbleton Town Hall, 10700 Hwy 189. Friday’s talks will include presentations by personnel from the Big Piney and Pinedale Ranger Districts of the Bridger-Teton National Forest, new Pinedale BLM Field Manager Caleb Hiner, Mike Henn with the Sublette County Conservation District, Dick Loper with the State Grazing Board, and John Lund with the Wyoming Game & Fish. Saturday’s meeting presentations include an update from the Congressional Delegation, a stock grower’s update from Joe Neild, information from Steve True, Executive Director of the Wyoming Livestock Board, and information about the Middle Piney/Sandy Dam Enlargement. Special thanks to Jensen Feeds and Jensen Angus for sponsoring the breaks for the meetings.
A prime rib dinner banquet will held on Saturday at the Southwest Sublette County Pioneer Senior Center in Marbleton. Banquet speaker will be Dr. Holt, DVM from Colorado State University. Cost for the dinner is $35 in advance or $40 at the door. Social hour starts at 5:30PM with a cash bar. There will be live music and dancing featuring The Sundowners. Banquet tickets can be purchased at The Cowboy Shop in Pinedale and Office Outlet stores in Big Piney and Pinedale. Tickets are also available at the banquet at the door. Meetings and banquet are open to the public. If you are interested in the cattle industry, agriculture of would just like to enjoy a nice diner and the entertainment, you are welcome to attend.
Full annual membership in the association, or an Associate annual membership, is $30.00/person. All mail orders for banquet tickets received after Feb. 19th can be picked up at the meetings or at the door on the night of the banquet. They can be mailed to GRVCA, PO Box 579, Pinedale, WY 82941.
There will be a drawing at the banquet on Saturday evening for a post and pole package, donated by Pickaroon Timber, with proceeds going towards the GRVCA scholarship. The package includes a bundle of 17 foot poles, a bundle of 5" drivers, and a 4-foot Powder River gate. There will also be a drawing for a Wyoming Commemorative Ruger 10/22 rifle. Tickets will be available at the banquet.
