A gray wolf has been spotted and photographed on the North Rim of Arizona's Grand Canyon, according to news accounts. The large animal appears to be wearing a nonfunctioning radio collar, and there is speculation that the animal may be from the Northern Rocky Mountain wolf population found hundreds of miles to the north. Mexican wolves are generally much smaller than their northern counterparts.
