Pinedale resident, Cary Laine was featured on the NBC TV program "The Voice" on Tuesday, Feb. 25th. She did a blind audition in front of four professional performers, Adam Levine, Blake Shelton. Shakira, and Usher, singing "Better Dig Two." She got a four-chair turn with all the potential coaches vying for her after listening to her sing. She ultimately picked Adam Levine to be her coach. Laine’s husband and son were also shown cheering her on during the performance. The national TV show included scenes from Pinedale including Fremont Lake, Rock Rabbit and more.
"The Voice" is a reality television singing competition broadcast on NBC. The series features the talent of new aspiring singers drawn from public auditions. The winner is determined by viewers by voting through telephone, internet, SMS text, and iTunes Store purchases of artists' performances. The singer does a blind audition in front of a panel of four coaches who critique the artists' performance. During the performance, each of the panel pushes a button to offer their services to the singer, and pitches why they would be the best coach. The singer gets to pick one as their coach. Each coach guides their teams of selected artists through the remainder of the season. Winners receive $100,000 and a record deal with Universal Music Group for winning the competition. The program is currently in its sixth season.
