White Pine Ski Resort has been included in the 2013 Rocky Mountain Snowmobile Hillclimb Association (RMSHA) calendar. The 1,100’ rise from the base level lodge is expected to attract around 180 snowmobile racers from the Rocky Mountain region for the two-day event, racing in four separate categories, with the final race off for the supreme title "King of the Hill."
Races start each day at 8 am on both March 8th and 9th. In each category, Pro Stock, Pro Improved stock, Pro Mod and Pro Master, spectators will see racers on snowmobiles ranging from 600cc to 1000cc, as well as an Open classes in Pro Modified and Semi Pro Modified. Also included in the program will be a Women’s event (limited to 800cc) and the local’s favorite "anything goes" - a fun race which challenges local enthusiasts to try their machine against the hill.
Race organizer, RMSHA will be accepting entries until the end of the month with the challenging course at White Pine expected to be of interest to both professional and amateur riders. RMSHA is the recognized as the premier snowmobile hillclimb association across the North American snowbelt, providing safe, competitive racing for the top athletes and teams in the sport.
Spectator entry fee is $5.00 per person and, as parking will be limited at White Pine, local bus company Sublink Stage will be running a shuttle from Pinedale to White Pine from 7:30am. As well as picking up at the local hotels on Pine Street, the bus will stop outside the main entrance to the Sublette County Visitor Center.
Food and beverages will be available from local on-site concessionaires and no alcohol will be permitted to be brought in from outside. For the best viewing opportunities, White Pine is offering 50 VIP passes to the top floor of the lodge. The $100 pass includes entry fee on both days, exclusive use of the third floor with food supplied all day. Anyone interested should contact robyn@whitepineski.com.
