Nordic ski grooming report – Dec. 11, 2012
December 11, 2012
Report courtesy of Mike Looney, Groomer
Ski trails have received a couple of inches of new snow from yesterday. All trails freshly groomed. Upper & Lower Surveyor and Flatline groomed for classic.
Please keep dogs off Upper Surveyor Park for now, but they are welcome in Lower Surveyor. Be alert for wildlife, deer and moose, on the ski trails. Never approach wildlife and keep your dogs under control at all times.
The road is snow packed and plowed. Things are a little slushy today above Kelly Park due to warmer temperatures mixed with the sanding and salting on the road. Watch for deer along the road.
White Pine ski area will open for their alpine ski season on Thursday, December 13th for skiing and food services at the lodge. The parking lot at White Pine is snow packed and in good condition. A restroom is also available at the Nordic ski trailhead off the White Pine parking lot.
After December 15th no vehicles will be allowed on any of the ski trails.
CCC Ponds will be groomed after December 15th, as soon as snow allows.
