Two Candidate Forums, August 13 & 14
by Pinedale Online!
August 7, 2012
The Pinedale Roundup, the Sublette Examiner, Pinedale Online, and KPIN Radio will be hosting two Candidate Forums for the upcoming 2012 local Primary Election:
Monday, August 13, 2012 in the Senior Center in Marbleton, starting at 6 PM. All eight county commissioner candidates have said they plan to attend this forum. Other candidates will also be attending.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012, in the Lovatt Room of the Sublette County Library in Pinedale, starting at 6 PM. The state legislative candidates will be first. Some of the county commissioner candidates cannot be present at this forum.
The forums will be MC’d by Bob Rule of KPIN Radio and will be broadcast live on KPIN 101.1 FM Radio. The questions will be asked by members of the Pinedale Roundup and Sublette Examiner newspaper. Candidates will have two minutes to answer a given question.
The audience will be given index cards to write questions to be asked of the candidates during the forum. The newspaper staff may combine repeat questions and screen others if the topic is irrelevant to things the candidate can act upon in their capacity as an elected official. People listening to the forum live on the radio can email questions during the forum and Pinedale Online will collect those and they will be included with the questions brought forward from the audience. Please specify if the question is for one particular candidate or for all. Questions may be submitted to forum@pinedaleonline.com in the days prior to the forum. Pinedale Online will monitor this email address during the forum and present listening audience questions to add to the ones submitted by the live audience during the forum. The forums are expected to last approximately two hours each.
There will be time before and after the forum for members of the audience to mingle with the candidates and ask them additional questions. The forums will conclude with some general information on registering at the polls to vote, and where to vote in the Primary Election.
Following each forum, an audio recording of the forum will posted on www.pinedaleonline.com and also to www.sublettetimes.com, to allow people to listen to the forum at their convenience.
