With the announced departure of Marilyn Jensen from her position as Clerk of the District Court, the Sublette County Republican Central Committee was called to meet Wednesday night in the County Commissioners’ meeting room to select three persons in the process of replacing Marilyn Jensen. Her position is one which is elected every four years by the voters of Sublette County.
A total of 14 applicants responded to Sublette County GOP Chairman Walt Bousman’s call for applications from persons wishing to be considered for the position of Clerk of District Court.
Most of these applicants appeared before the GOP Central Committee Wednesday night, and after hearing statements from each of them, and doing some questions and answers, the Committee then cast secret ballots, with each Precinct Committeeman and Precinct Comitteewoman voting for a total of three persons.
When the votes were tabulated, the top three vote getters were:
Janet Montgomery Brenda Kennedy Maureen Rudnick
These three names are being turned in to the Sublette County Commissioners, and this Friday at 10 AM, these three candidates will each appear, separately, before the County Commissioners, and after these interviews, the Commissioners will select one person to become the new Clerk of District Court, who will serve with this appointment until the next election cycle two years from now, when, most likely, this person will seek election from the voters of Sublette County.
