by Pregnancy Resource Center
August 2, 2012
On August 11th Pine Creek will be the site of the 2nd Annual Pinedale Duck Derby to benefit the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC). Volunteers for the event will be dumping rubber ducks into the water to race for three cash prizes: $1,000, $500, and $250.
The race will start at 4:00 p.m. at American Legion Park and end at Boyd Skinner Park. The PRC will be doing duck "adoptions" at their office at 115 N. Tyler Street until August 9th. After that time people may adopt their ducks from 10:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. on the day of the race. Duck adoptions start at just $10.00.
The PRC will be offering more entertainment this year. Pre-race activities start at 11:00 a.m. and include: Sumo wrestling, Bungee run, Zorb Ball, bouncy houses, dunking booth, inflatable slide, scavenger hunt, potato sack races, food and drinks, pie eating contest, and a live DJ.
The PRC will also be hosting a dunking booth next to the gazebo in the park. Fletcher Turcato, Steve Miller, Ken Grant, and Ernie Kawa, are just a few of the people who have volunteered to get "dunked" to help raise money for the Center. A complete schedule of activities will be published in both newspapers the week of the event.
