Sublette County held its second special election to determine how many county commissioners should preside over county business, three or five? Last August, voters elected to go from 3 to 5 commissioners, with 28% of registered voters going to the polls.
The 2012 election had a 45.88% voter turn-out, casting votes which ultimately decided to overturn the results of the previous special election, with the majority voting to decrease the board of county commissioners from 5 back to 3 members.
May 8, 2012 election: 1806 total votes cast (45.88% of registered voters) 832 voting to stay at 5 commissioners 974 voting to decrease from 5 back to 3 commissioners (713 more voters participated in this election than did in 2011)
August 16, 2011 election: 1093 total votes cast (28.67% of registered voters) 562 voting for going to 5 commissioners 531 voting against going to 5 commissioners
