Pinedale resident, Conor Raney, will appear on the Travel Channel’s "Mysteries at the Museum" program on Tuesday, May 22 at 6:00pm Mountain Time. The episode in which he appears is called: "Reagan’s Limousine and Keely’s Motor." The program analyzes America’s most mysterious museum artifacts and uncovers the mystery behind them. There are multiple artifacts presented throughout one-hour long episode.
Raney appears in the episode called, "Reagan's Limousine and Keely’s Motor." His acting comes in on the story known as "The Belay" and tells a story of a climber’s ice axe (artifact the show is focused on) used on the 1953 K2 Expedition. Conor plays Pete Schoening, the climber who held six fallen climbers with an ice axe.
Raney originally sent his acting info to Travel Channel in February hoping to snag an acting spot, which in most cases doesn’t even turn over a response, he said. But later that day, he got an email stating that they would like him to call them and discus an acting gig. After that phone call, they said they needed him two days later in Granby, Colorado for filming. He went to a location and filmed for the whole day. Following the shoot, he got paid, went back to his hotel room and studied for a test next day in Laramie.
22-year old Raney graduated from Pinedale High School in 2008. He is currently attending school at the University of Wyoming in Laramie, double majoring in Geography and Education. Raney hopes to pursue more opportunities for acting in the future.
