by Pinedale Online! May 23, 2012 Bloomberg posted an article saying that Scotland hopes to increase oil production in the North Sea by using carbon dioxide to push out hard to reach energy resources. The recently-opened Centre for North Sea Enhanced Oil Recovery With CO2, will help advance technologies to inject carbon emissions from power plants and industry into aging oilfields to force out crude. The article mentions Exxon Mobil Corp, which already sells CO2 from its LaBarge Shute Creek plant in Wyoming for oil recovery.
