2011 Watershed Progress Report available
by Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts
May 31, 2012

The 2011 Watershed Progress Report, published by the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts, highlights the work being done across Wyoming to address the state’s impaired and threatened waters. This report first published in 2005 and again in 2007 and 2009, highlights local efforts to restore the water quality across Wyoming.

The report includes pictures of projects and a map illustrating the watersheds and the specific impaired waterbodies in the watersheds. Information contained in the report includes the Conservation District’s monitoring results, watershed planning efforts, implementation of Best Management Practices that have occurred within watersheds with listed impairments, and partners the districts have worked with to implement practices. These efforts include partnerships with many different individuals, entities, and levels of government.

New to the 2011 report is a list of Best Management Practices implemented by each district and the Natural Resource Conservation Service and a chart depicting investments in restoring water quality between the fall of 2009 and the fall of 2011. An online publication is also available with video commentary produced by the Conservations Districts with landowners, steering committee members, and partners. The video commentaries from each district can also be viewed on the Wyoming Association of Conservation Districts YouTube Channel, ConserveWY.
