The Rocky Mountain Power Foundation has awarded a $2,000 grant to the Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) to help support the Client Services Program.

PRC is a non-profit organization that provides free services to those who are dealing with a planned or unplanned pregnancy. Key services include: pregnancy tests, peer counseling, pregnancy and parenting classes, community referrals, maternity clothes and financial assistance.

The Client Services Program of the PRC is designed to provide the resources and education that families need in order to make positive decisions regarding their health, pregnancies, relationships, and parenting. The parenting education module covers a wide range of topics including prenatal development, newborn care, first aid, nutrition, and positive discipline. Clients who participate in the program earn valuable items such as car seats, portable cribs, diapers, formula, and grocery cards.

"Rocky Mountain Power Foundation is pleased to support Pinedaleís Pregnancy Resource Center in providing services to new parents and families in the community," said Joe Drnas, Rocky Mountain Power customer and community manager.

The grant from the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation will support counseling and parenting classes and to launch the new Cribs for Kids outreach program, which will provide free portable cribs and safe sleep education to low-income families in Sublette County. The cribs will be distributed to clients who participate in at least six parenting classes at the center.

"We are excited to offer this new program to our clients," said Melissa Andersen, executive director for the PRC. "This grant will enable us to order educational DVDs, brochures, and the first set of portable cribs for our clients. We are honored to receive this grant from the Rocky Mountain Power Foundation."

To participate in the Cribs for Kids program, a person must be an active client at the center. For more information about the program please call the PRC office at 307-367-7077 or visit
