Tuesday, Dec. 6th, 1:55PM: Preliminary information:
Sublette County Sheriff's Office confirmed an explosion at the Falcon natural gas compressor station in the Jonah Field around noon on Tuesday, Dec. 6th. Preliminary reports indicated no fatalaties.
Emergency personnel from the Sublette County fire, EMS and Sheriff’s Office quickly responded to the scene.
There were reports of 100-foot high flame and a smoke column that could be seen more than 10 miles distant.
Preliminary reports indicated that Enterprise workers were able to shut gas flow to the compressor station allowing the remaining gas in the lines to burn out.
Preliminary reports indicate all 35 people who were signed into the Compressor Station were accounted for by 1:30 PM and no one required medical transport for injuries.
As of the time of this report, the cause of the explosion was still unknown.
