Pinedale Nordic Ski Grooming Report, November 21
November 21, 2011
Trails at Kelly Park, Old Road Trail, Lower Surveyor Park, Surveyor Park, Moose ridge, and Tree Loop are all groomed. The trails got a couple of inches of new snow over the weekend. Near the Nordic barn there is about 12 inches of total depth unpacked snow; by White Pine there is about 16 inches. Classic tracks are in on Upper Surveyor Park over Moose Ridge, which is currently the best skiing. The rest of the trails are marginal. Use caution and watch for obstacles such as rocks along the trail. Recommend using old equipment for now rather than your good skis until we get deeper coverage.
The road is plowed to the White Pine Parking lot. No services at the lodge (White Pine is closed), however there is a new Nordic Warming Hut at the trailhead near the parking lot, which has a vaulted restroom.
Dogs permitted only on the Old Road Trail and Lower Surveyor Park trail.
The CCC Pond trails won’t be groomed until December 16th due to government wildlife protection restrictions in place through Dec. 15th. Skiers can still use the trails, but they won’t be groomed until mid-December.
Plans are in place to open the golf course for grooming for skiing when there is enough snow. Watch for announcements for the opening for that area.
