Abbie Woolwine Benefit December 9
November 18, 2011
Community members are invited to attend a benefit dinner and raffle for the family of Abbie Woolwine on Friday, December 9 from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Wrangler Gym Cafeteria at 665 N. Tyler Ave. in Pinedale. Abbie, 5, has been diagnosed with Niemann-Pick Type C, a rare and terminal illness that blocks cell function and eventually causes the loss of the ability to walk, speak and swallow and the failure of major organ systems. There are only about 1,200 cases of Niemann-Pick worldwide. Volunteers will serve a pulled pork sandwich dinner with various side dishes for donations to help offset medical bills and the associated costs of treatment and care for Abbie. Raffle tickets for a Remington Model 7 CDL .270 WSM are being sold until December 8 at First Bank and the Bank of Sublette County. Tickets are $10 each or six tickets for $50. Gun raffle tickets will also be available the night of the benefit. General raffle tickets will be sold on the night of December 9 for a chance to win a two-day outdoor adventure with Courtney Skinner, a one-year membership to Proactive, a two-hour fishing school with Two Rivers Emporium or a spa package. General raffle tickets will be $5 each or five tickets for $20. Donations for Abbie Woolwine will be accepted at the Bank of Sublette County, PO Box 1390, Pinedale, WY 82941 or 807 W. Pine St., Pinedale until Friday, December 23, 2011. More information about Niemann-Pick can be found at http://www.nnpdf.org/index.html.
