Wyoming Department of Transportation workers replace the two yellow pedestrian flashing lights on Tyler and Lake streets with new ‘HAWK’ pedestrian beacons to help pedestrians cross the highway safely. The installation is the first of its kind in Wyoming. ‘HAWK’ is an acronym for High intensity Activated crossWalK. The crosswalk light sequence will now include a solid red stop light through the entire pedestrian crossing period (25 seconds) to stop traffic and help pedestrians to cross the highway.
