Sublette County Sheriff’s Office Press Release – July 19, 2010
On July 17, 2010 at 5:24 pm a call came into the Sublette County Sheriff’s Office dispatch of a missing person in the Boulder Lake Area in Sublette County.
The call came from Mya Boren of Rock Springs, Wyoming. Mya stated that she and her brother Bodie Moody and three friends started hiking in the Boulder Lake area. Mya stated that her brother Bodie Moody got separated from their hiking party while on the trail from Boulder Lake to Burnt Lake.
The hikers said that the trail to Burnt Lake was more difficult than they expected and that Bodie Moody turned back to go to the truck. Mya stated that she and her companions turned back after ten (10) minutes of separating from Bodie; and after arriving back to the truck her brother was not there.
Tip Top Search and Rescue was notified and mobilized a search using hikers, ATV’s and a helicopter. There were also several local residents aiding in the search.
The following day, July 18, 2010, the search continued, using a greater number of search and rescue personnel on ATV’s, horseback and on foot. A helicopter from the Wyoming Air National Guard is also being used. The search area has been expanded to all the trails located in the Boulder Lake area, Blueberry Lake area and Horseshoe Lake area.
The lost hiker has not been found at this time. The search is ongoing.

Missing Hiker: Bodie Moody was last seen on Saturday, July 17th on the Burnt Lake trail (Boulder area) around 3:00 PM. He has bleach blond hair with dark roots and wears glasses. He is 5’8" tall and weighs approximately 190 pounds. He was last seen wearing black athletic shorts and tank top with red stripes on the side.
