Utah quake felt in Wyoming
The 4.9 magnitude earthquake was centered 5 miles east-northeast of Randolph, Utah, or 31 miles north-northwest of Evanston, Wyoming.
4.9 Earthquake reported in southwest Wyoming
Felt in Big Piney and southern Lincoln County
April 15, 2010

Thursday, April 15, 2010: At 7:23PM the National Weather Service (NWS) issued a notice that an earthquake has been felt weakly by many people in southwest Wyoming Thursday evening. The quake was felt from southern Lincoln County to Big Piney. No damage has been reported.

The USGS reported that a 4.9 magnitude earthquake occurred at approximated 6 PM MDT Thursday evening. The earthquake was centered 5 miles east-northeast of Randolph, Utah, or 31 miles north-northwest of Evanston, Wyoming.

The NWS said information was still preliminary and they would issue more information, including Richter scale magnitude, as it becomes available from the National Earthquake Information Center in Golden, Colorado.

The Sublette County Sheriff’s Office dispatch said there were no reports of anyone calling their office saying they had felt the earthquake.
