Sublette County emergency services were called into action around 2:30PM on Sunday afternoon when a semi-truck high centered on the raised pavement in the parking lot at the Obo’s Phillips 66 station in Pinedale.
The truck had fueled up with diesel and started to drive away when one of its low clearance gas tanks snagged on a raised berm over the underground tanks in the parking lot, causing it to rupture and spill fuel. The semi-truck was from Salt Lake City, Utah-based company.
Pinedale Volunteer Fire Department firefighters contained the leak, sopped up the spilled fuel and there were no injuries.
Another truck was called in from Rock Springs to drain the remaining fuel and remove the damaged tank so the stuck truck could free itself from the berm. As of 10:30PM, the truck was still stuck and a Pinedale VFD firetruck was still onsite with lights flashing, blocking the westside pump lanes at the gas station.
