by Cat Urbigkit, Pinedale Online! December 2, 2009 The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service just provided a new estimate of Wyoming's minimum wolf population. FWS reported: "As of November 2009, preliminary estimates for Wyoming outside Yellowstone National Park (YNP) are >200 wolves in >30 packs (19-21 breeding pairs). Inside YNP there are approximately 116 wolves in 14 packs (6 breeding pairs)."
