Snocross racer Taylor Dyess tests out new sled in preparation for upcoming races

Clark Dyess sent in photos of a sneak peek from son Taylor's first ride on his new 2010 Ski-Doo 600RS.
"Our first ride out is none too soon since Taylor's first race in Duluth, Minnesota is now less than 10 days away!" Dyess said. "We are having to go really up high in the mountains to even to get to the snow, which is very uncommon for this time of year. This is all adding to the challenges of getting prepared for Duluth." These photos were taken recently at an undisclosed location in Wyoming.

15-year old Taylor Dyess has been riding snowmobiles since he was 4 years old. The Pinedale youth comes from a family that loves snowmobile riding and racing and has their own snocross team, which Taylor has grown up as a part of. This season, the Dyess team, Snowfire Racing, will be competing in the entire National International Series of Champions (ISOC) series which has race venues across the United States and Canada. Taylor has been accepted as part of the Ski-Doo X-Riders and has recently become a Ski-Doo Factory sponsored racer.

"The sled is still a work in progress in more ways than one. We are busy adding all the extras to have the sled all setup for racing along with all the tuning that comes with a new race sled. Even though in the pictures it looks like Taylor is more on a mountain sled than a snocross sled and having fun, there has been a lot of trying to dial in a baseline for the suspension, carbs and clutches," Dyess said.

"These pictures are also the first time anyone has seen our new graphics for this season," Dyess said. "I would express my thanks again for the many sponsors, friends and family that makes this all possible for Taylor and our family! We truly love what we do and without all your support, we wouldn't be able to do it! Thank you very much!"
