Rocky Mountain Power announced the launch of six energy efficiency and peak use reduction programs now available to its Wyoming residential, commercial and industrial customers. Rocky Mountain Power will offer customers incentives to purchase energy-efficient equipment and products to reduce overall energy consumption.
"These energy efficiency programs have been very successful in other states the company serves," said Richard Walje, Rocky Mountain Power president. "The programs are designed to help customers save money by becoming more efficient in their energy use. Rocky Mountain Power is excited to offer these programs to its Wyoming customers who will enjoy immediate and long-term benefits."
Residential programs include: • See ‘Ya Later Refrigerator, providing free pick-up and recycling of older, less efficient refrigerators and freezers, an energy savings kit and a $30 cash incentive; • Home Energy Savings, offering cash incentives to assist in the purchasing of qualifying energy-efficient appliances, windows and insulation; and • weatherization, lighting and appliance efficiency upgrades for income qualifying customers through a partnership with local non-profit agencies.
Commercial and industrial programs provide technical expertise, energy analysis and incentives through the Energy FinAnswer program; prescriptive rebates on qualified equipment under the FinAnswer Express program; and opportunities to self-invest and receive bill credits under the Self-Direction Credit program. All the business programs are tailored to the specific needs and capabilities of Rocky Mountain Power’s business customers.
"We have analyzed these programs and agree they will bring benefits to Wyoming customers," said Bryce Freeman, Wyoming Office of Consumer Advocate administrator. "These programs will help lessen the need for Rocky Mountain Power to acquire more expensive electrical generation resources while helping customers realize savings on their monthly bills. We encourage all customers to participate in programs that will fit their needs."
