Wyoming Game and Fish Department officials continued the elk test-and-removal pilot project at Boulder-area feedgrounds Wednesday morning, with a successful capture at the Muddy Creek feedground this morning. The elk are currently being processed and blood samples are being drawn from all adult female elk to test for brucellosis.
Meanwhile, of the 122 adult female elk processed at the Fall Creek feedground on Tuesday, six had seropositive results for the disease. These six cows were transported to a USDA-inspected slaughter facility in eastern Idaho this morning. Tissue samples will be taken from the six animals, and the meat donated in Wyoming communities.
