Here is a look at some of the proposed bills being considered by the 2009 House committees:
H.B. No. 0124 - Irrigation districts Sponsored by: DAVISON AN ACT relating to irrigation districts; providing for applicability of special district elections laws to irrigation districts; providing for review of annual reports by county commissioners; transferring jurisdiction over irrigation districts to county commissioners rather than the courts; providing conforming amendments; repealing conflicting provisions; and providing for an effective date. http://legisweb.state.wy.us/2009/Titles/HB0124.htm http://legisweb.state.wy.us/2009/Introduced/HB0124.pdf
H.B. No. 0030 - Minimum wage Sponsored by: BAGBY AN ACT relating to minimum wages; increasing minimum wages for all employees; and providing for an effective date. Proposed to raise the minimum wage to $7.50 per hour. Also proposes to require tipped employees not be paid less than $5.00 per hour. It also provides that if the wage paid by the employer combined with the tips received by the employee during a given pay period do not equal at least the applicable minimum wage, the employer shall pay the difference to the tipped employee. H.B. No. 0075 - Subdivisions-water supply study Sponsored by: BROWN AN ACT relating to subdivisions; providing for modified requirements for groundwater studies for subdivisions; and providing for an effective date. Under this new law, a county may elect to apply subdivision water supply study requirements to the sale or disposition of any land of parcels that are 35 acres or larger up to 140 acres.
