Wyoming Honor Flight
New group to help Wyoming Vets get to Memorials
by Governor Freudenthalís office
December 12, 2008

Today (Friday, December 12) at 1 p.m., Gov. Dave Freudenthal, State Auditor Rita Meyer and Maj. Gen. Ed Wright will join veterans of World War II and other wars to announce the formation of a Wyoming Honor Flight group.

The event will be held at the American Legion, Post 6, 2001 E. Lincolnway, at 1 p.m.

The Honor Flight Network is a non-profit organization that helps transport veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit and reflect at memorials such as the Vietnam Veterans Memorial and the World War II Memorial.

In September, more than 200 veterans and their guardians from Wyoming and northern Colorado traveled to Washington in a trip sponsored by Honor Flight Northern Colorado.

Veterans who participated in the trip and founding members of the Wyoming Honor Flight group are expected to attend the event.
