Dedication of the Naomi Pape Pathway
by Dave Bell, Chairman, Sublette County Recreation Board
September 23, 2008
A large crowd of well-wishers, friends and citizens gathered at noon on Tuesday, September 23, 2008 to dedicate the Upper Pinedale Pathway to the formal name of the "Naomi Pape Pathway". The pathway runs from Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale to Fremont Lake. The pathway dedication culminates a 12-year project undertaken by the Sublette County Recreation Board. The pathway is dedicated in the loving memory of Naomi Pape, a long-time Recreation Board member and ardent supporter of the pathway and its construction. Naomi passed away from a long 13-year battle with cancer on January 8, 2007. She was a visionary, and leader in our community. Her flaming red hair and wonderful smile were an icon throughout Sublette County. She led a wonderful life balanced between her family, friends and community activities. The Recreation Board, Sublette County Commissioners and family are appreciative of her efforts to see the pathway constructed and are honored to dedicate this tremendous community asset in her memory.
