Roads in Sublette, Uinta and Lincoln Counties to be Chip Sealed
by Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT)
July 1, 2008
Various roads in Uinta, Sublette and Lincoln counties will be resurfaced through a Wyoming Department of Transportation District Three maintenance chip sealing project during July.
Weather permitting, the chip sealing begins on WY 235, Calpet Road, from milepost 0 to 4.49 in Lincoln County on July 7 and wraps up on July 10 in Sublette County on WY 350, Piney West, from milepost 0.3 to 5.06. The following week, chip sealing will take place in Uinta County on WY 414, Lone Tree Road, from milepost 110.68 to 120 between July 14 and July 17.
Chip sealing highways extends the life of the pavement by five to 10 years and provides some skid resistance for motorists in the winter. The speed limit in the work area will be reduced with stopped traffic conditions under the control of flaggers and a pilot car. Motorists are advised to slow down and obey the posted speed limits on chip sealed highways to avoid broken windshields.
