Held in Big Piney
by Pinedale Online!
April 4, 2008
Sublette County schools participated in District History Day in Big Piney on Thursday, April 3, 2008. Schools from Lincoln County also participated.
Middle and high school age students presented a variety of projects on subjects of their own choosing, which centered on this year’s theme, "Conflict and Compromise in History."
District competition coordinator and Big Piney coach, Jonita Sommers, was assisted by Ann Noble of Pinedale in planning the competition. Numerous volunteers from around the county judged the competition. Bureau of Land Management archeologist Dave Vlcek, from Pinedale, was the guest speaker at the awards ceremony.
Students placing in the top three of their division will now advance to state competition to be held at the University of Wyoming in Laramie on Monday, April 21st.
