Sweet Harmony to perform in April
Local ladies to sing two nights at Community Church
by Pinedale Fine Arts Council
March 24, 2008
The Pinedale Fine Arts Council is proud to present local singing ensemble Sweet Harmony for two nights only at the Pinedale Community United Church of Christ April 4 and April 5. Both performances will begin at 7 p.m. and will feature wine and a chocolate fountain in a cozy café style ambiance. “Two Evenings with Sweet Harmony” will showcase the group’s wide range of music. Their repertoire includes songs in the style of Sweet Adeline, Ragtime, Gospel, Classical, and Jazz---accompanied and a cappella.
Sweet Harmony began in 1987 when a group of talented ladies came together to perform in a local talent show. Their success as a group inspired them to remain together. The original ensemble was composed of eight vocalists: Chris Cramer, Julie (JJ) Huntley, Julie Konicek, Laurie McClain, Marianne Mrak, Delores Scissons, Nancy Stevens and Sharron Ziegler. Eventually Sweet Harmony expanded to 10 members. Members have included Maude Jackson, Karen Stevens, Martha Graham, Dianne Herbert, Rhonda Bennett, Melissa Bernard, Sue Briggs and Sue Holz.
Over the years they have performed at many community events, including the Green River Rendezvous, Sublette County Fair, Eastern Star banquets, The Green River Valley Cowbelles/Cattlewomen’s annual meetings, State Artists conventions, American Legion gatherings, funerals, weddings and retirement parties.
Tickets for the performances are $15 per person and are only available at Rock Rabbit in Pinedale. Remaining tickets (if any remain) will be sold at the door. Seating is limited so be sure to stop by Rock Rabbit to purchase your tickets today.
