Groomed Ski Trails Groomed ski trails above Kelly Park.

The 3-mile CCC Pond loop was groomed for the last time this season on March 15. The two-track portion of this loop is beginning to melt out but a good snow base remains on the paved part so the skiing will be good on the bike path until the next big windstorm.

The trail system along Skyline Drive above the Halfmoon Lake Overlook received a little more snow this week. Trail conditions are at their peak for the season and the Nordic skiing is outstanding throughout the entire 14 miles of groomed routes from Kelly Park to White Pine and Upper Surveyor Park, and back down to the Nordic Building. The trails will start getting soft in the late afternoons as the sun climbs a little higher on the horizon each day so the best time to ski is late morning into the early afternoon.
