Bird’s nest?
No, it's a porcupine!

At first glance, this blob in the willows along the Green River Supply Canal looked like a bird’s nest. Upon closer inspection, it turned out to be a porcupine perched about four feet off the ground enjoying a meal of twigs and bark. Porcupines are rodents, and can grow to 26 pounds and over three feet in length. Their defense is the sharp quills that cover their body and detach easily to stick into the flesh of any predator, or curious dog, that gets too close.
