Antique Roadshow at Green River Valley Museum April 12
Fundraiser for the Museum
March 27, 2008
The Green River Valley Museum (GRVM) will present “Our very own antique Roadshow” fundraiser on Saturday, April 12th, in Big Piney.
After many years of successful “Hardhats and Stetsons” auctions, the Green River Valley Museum board decided to try something new. This year the museum will host a fundraiser with special guest Timothy Gordon of Timothy Gordon Appraisals from Missoula, Montana. Early last summer, Gordon worked at the museum appraising the value of its contents and buildings and offered to do a fundraiser based on the concepts of “Antique Roadshow.”
Between 1:00 to 4:00 PM bring one or two antique items to be appraised by Timothy Gordon Appraisals (There will be a $10 charge for each item). “Bring in that old dress Aunt Mary used to wear or the spurs your great-great grandfather used on roundup to learn the value and maybe learn a little history,” said GRVM Director Carrie Anderson
At 6:00 PM there will be Hors d'oeuvres, drinks and board games with special prizes. There will be traveling packages, dinners in Rock Springs and door prizes to be given away. There will be a $10 door charge. Tim Gordon will give a special presentation on unusual items appraised that afternoon. “Please plan to join us for this ‘something old, something new’ afternoon and evening of support for the Green River Valley Museum,” Anderson said.
