Coach Eskelsen's Comments:
Big Piney raises its record to 6-2 and hosts first round of state play-offs on Friday on Puncher field. Game time is still uncertain as Big Piney will take on the Wright Panthers.
The Punchers played an outstanding game at Greybull and won the game 21-6. The Puncher offense has picked up the pace the last 3 games and appears to be balanced as they enter the play-offs in defense of the 2006 State Championship.
The Puncher win coupled with the Pinedale win over Lyman insured the Red of home field advantage for the first round game.
Offensively, Drew Guenthner ran for 146 yds behind the fine blocking of our offensive line. Gary Phillips was 7 of 9 through the air for 105 yds. He has accumulated over 300 yds over the last 2 games. Nick Mackie hauled in 4 passes for 52 yds.
The always stingy defense held Greybull to 120 yds rushing and only 16 passing. Ben Howard was in on 12 tackles. Taylor Moceika, Cameron Pedersen and Chris Manning also led in defensive points. Drew Guenthner had the only turn-over with a 4th quarter interception.
