Your Opinion Wanted!
Community and Arts Center Survey
by Jo Crandall
September 9, 2007
Last spring a citizens’ group meet with the county commissioners and asked them to fund a feasibility study to look into the need for and what it would take to construct, manage, and operate a combined community and arts center in Pinedale. As envisioned, the public facility would house community meeting space for large and small events, art studios, children’s after school programs, classrooms for adults and students, a community theater, outdoor amphitheatre, office space for non-profits and a secure community art gallery.
Bozeman, Montana-based Louise Stevens, owner and principle of ArtsMarket Consulting was hired to conduct the study. Part of her task is to investigate options for operating a multi-use facility that addresses the community needs for various kinds of space. Ms. Stevens is also determining the amount of square footage such a facility should include, exploring facility management options, funding sources for the building’s construction and the expected operating costs.
A public opinion survey that ArtsMarket Consulting has developed will be available online at SurveyMonkey.com by clicking on this link: Pinedale Fine Arts Center Survey. A link to the survey can also be found on the top right of the front page of Pinedale Online beginning September 10. We urge you to take a few moments to go online and give us some guidance. Please remind your neighbors to participate as well. The greater the number of participants the more accurate the information will be. The questions are geared to find out how a community and arts center can serve local needs. The results will help the consultant determine what county residents consider to be the current priorities.
Additional information about the proposed center and the survey can be obtained from Jo Crandall at 307-367-2623 or Joanne Garnett at 307-367-6548.
