Big Piney vs Kemmerer Football
Big Piney Punchers 7 - Kemmerer Rangers 39
by Barbara Mullin
September 21, 2007
Coach Eskelsen's comments:
Kemmerer lived up to their #1 rating with a strong defensive performance and a balanced offensive attack. For Big Piney, it was pretty much the same as it has been, a good defensive game but a pretty much dormant offense. Penalties and miscues continue to hurt the offense and limit us to sustaining drives.
Defensively, the Punchers played well but quite simply was on the field way too long. Ben Howard, Nick Mackie and John Colton each collected nine tackles. Taylor Moceika had a great 1st half with 2 sacks and 7 tackles, but found himself double-teamed most of the second half. Cornerback Mike Forrester and Drew Guenthner are continuing to have a fine year.
The Punchers have the next two weeks with home games. Pinedale (1-3) visits on Friday at 3:30 in the always tough cross-county game. The following week is Homecoming and the Thermopolis Bobcats come to Big Piney. Big Piney (3-1) needs to win a couple of the next 4 games to reach the play-offs and hopefully host a first round game with a victory or two.
