Sublette County Library Art Displays
by Pam McCulloch
August 16, 2007
Have you been to the Sublette County Library lately? Take time to stop by, not only to pick out a good book, but to see the fabulous art. August 10 – 12th, Sublette County Sexual Assualt and Family Violence Task Force (SAFV) will be displaying art in the Lovett Room. There will be an auction held at Rendezvous Pointe in Pinedale, open to the public, on Friday, August 17th, to benefit SAFV. In addition to the Lovett Room art display, you will see several creatively-decorated fence posts throughout the library. Sublette County residents painted, decorated, did whatever artsy thing they could think of to homemade fence posts. Later this summer they will be put with others to create a uniquely Pinedale work of art.
This year, the Sublette County Library, in partnership with Museum on Main Street and the Wyoming Humanities Council, will be presenting “Between Fences”, a traveling Smithsonian exhibition that explores the significance of fences and boundaries in American culture. The Smithsonian exhibit will be coming to coming to the Sublette County Library September 22—November 10, 2007.
Make a point to stop by the Sublette County Library and see the various works of art from talented members of our community.
