August 7, 2007

The theme for the 2007 Sublette County Fair was "Get’er Done . . . Have Some Fun . . ."

This year's Fair was packed with all kinds of events, displays and exhibits. There were things happening all week, with fun for the whole family from weekend to weekend. Highlights included the Little Buckaroo Rodeo, the Rocky Mountain Horse Pullers, the Dutch Oven cookoff, a hypnotist, a cowboy poet, live wild animal exhibit, rope tricks, kid's events, an escape artist, contests, and livestock events for horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, rabbits and poultry throughout the week.

Country bands Little Texas and BlackHawk bands performed for the headline concert for this year’s Fair. BlackHawk opened for Little Textas to a sold-out audience. The concert was sponsored by Shell Rocky Mountain Production.

The weekend was packed with great entertainment. The Rhinestone Ropers performed amazing trick roping, bullwhip cracking, knife throwing, gun spinning and quick-draw shooting, along with amazing tricks by Lucky Joe the Trick Horse. TJ Casey, who hails from Montana, brought cowboy singing entertainment, along with hosting the Pet & Talent Shows for the Fair. The Ridgeway & Johnson Grand Illusion & Escape Show has been featured on The Discovery & Travel channels as a top escape artist show. The Safari Adventure wildlife show, by Pacific Animal Productions, featured many interesting and remarkable animals from the jungles from all around the world, including birds, reptiles and creepy crawlers. KidZJam is a high-energy Biblical program designed to help kids grow physically, mentally and spiritually on the principles and promises of the word of God. TYZEN, Master of Suggestion, is a stage hypnotist from Canada combining comedy and hypnosis to entertain audiences. The Sheriff’s Department held their annual Dance on Saturday.

(The IGX Adrenaline Jam interactive game experience was cancelled after the Fair books came out. We apologize for the miscommunication on that event.)

Special thanks to the 2007 Fair Board who work tirelessly behind the scenes all year long to put everything together for the Fair! The Fair Board is: Steve James, Howard White, Wayne Barlow, Dan Bates, Margie Braun, and Gary Kanski-Fair Manager. They would very much like to hear comments from people about the Fair. The Board can be reached at: Phone 307-276-5373, Fax 307-276-3864, E-mail: garykanski@yahoo.com.
