The Town of Pinedale’s position of non-support of the Bureau of Land Management’s preferred plan for natural gas drilling in the Upper Green was highlighted in story on Forbes.com today.
The AP story, by Mead Gruver, was entitled “Wyo: Town Concerned About Drilling Plan”. The article talks about the comments the Town of Pinedale submitted as official comment to the BLM regarding their plan for gas drilling over the next 15 to 20 years. The Town’s position is they would like to see drilling slowed down, fearing drilling too much-too quickly, would perpetuate economic swings that could hinder efforts to diversify the local economy beyond oil and gas.
Pinedale Mayor Steve Smith, environmental activist Linda Baker of the Upper Green River Valley Coalition, and Kellie Roadifer-BLM team leader for the resource management plan, are all quoted in the article.
