Dems These two formerly wild burros are livestock guardian animals recently brought to Sublette County from a ranch in Montana. Their previous owner named the pair Bill and Hillary.

Local ranchers Cat & Jim Urbigkit recently brought two formerly wild burros from Montana to their ranch to serve as livestock guardian animals.

The burros originated from range in Nevada. They are well suited to the job of protecting a sheep herd. Burros seem to have a natural dislike of canids, so when a coyote enters the pasture, the burros go on the attack.

Republican Ironically, Sublette County Republican Party Chair Cat Urbigkit is the proud new owner of what she fondly calls "the Democrats."	Penned The burros spend the night penned with their new sheep herd so that all can become acquainted.	Guarding The burros take right to the job in their new home. Captured off the range in Nevada, this pair of 10-year olds know what they need to do.
Sheep Trail The burros take right to the trail with the sheep.	Closeup Smaller than horses, but bigger than sheep, burros seem a perfect fit for the job of guarding.	Rolling After the eight-hour trailer ride from north of Billings, the burros have a good roll before venturing out to their new pasture.
River bottom The burros and sheep head into the New Fork River bottom.	Range Home The arid desert in the southern reaches of the county doesn't look so different from the range where the burros originated.
