High Wind Watch for Friday
Gusts from 60-70 mph possible
February 14, 2007

Update 2/15/07 4:00 PM: The High Wind Watch is focusing on central and southwest Wyoming. Sublette County is not in the warning area at this time. Sweetwater County/Rock Springs/Green River/East side of Wind River Mountains/I-80 corridor are included.
The National Weather Service out of Riverton has issued a High Wind Watch for much of western and central Wyoming for Friday. Very strong northwest winds are expected across much of the area with the potential for 40 miles per hour winds and gusts of up to 60 mph. Some mountain areas could get winds of 50 mph with gusts of over 70 mph.

A couple of fast-moving weather systems coming south from Canada will bring light snow across western and central Wyoming Wednesday night, with accumulations of 2-3 inches expected in the mountains. Valleys are expected to get 1-2 inches. Another system will arrive in western Wyoming on Thursday, which could bring potentially heavy snow late Thursday through Friday morning.
