Capitol Christmas Tree travels through Wyoming
On its way to Washington DC
November 22, 2006

The 2006 Capitol Christmas Tree traveled on Interstate 80 through Wyoming and made a stop at F.E. Warren Air Force Base on Monday, November 20, on its way from Washington State to Washington, D.C. I-80 is the major east-west interstate across Wyoming, going through Rock Springs approximately 100 miles south of Pinedale (which we consider to be “close” to us).

A story about the tree appeared in Air Force Link, the official website of the U.S. Air Force, www.af.mil. The story by 1st Lt. Josh Edwards of the 90th Space Wing Public Affairs, can be found at this link: Capitol Christmas Tree visits Wyoming base

The tree is a 65-foot Pacific silver fir from the Olympic National Forest in Washington state. There will be a lighting ceremony on Wednesday, December 6th.
