BMX Extreme Stunt Show
by Pinedale Online!
August 6, 2006
One of the more action-packed shows for kids at the Fair was the Extreme Stunt Show by Creative Sports Inc. Three BMX bike riders and one inline skater performed high jumps, flips and spills with contemporary music, theatrical comedy and audience participation.
The riders include some of the top BMX and inline skating stunt riders in the country, with credits to their names including the “X-Games” and the “Gravity Games”, as well as feature film, television and commercial stunt work. Jaren Grob two-time X-Game Champion, did flips and high-air jumps on inline skates. BMX riders were John Bethers, Jesse Johnson and Ross Oldow.
At one point in the show, a volunteer was selected from the audience. The willing, or somewhat reluctant participant, was placed in a chair on top of one of the jump ramps for a special stunt. One of the bike riders was then going to hit the ramp and jump over the volunteer sitting on top of the platform. One of the conditions was that they had to keep their eyes open, although at least one volunteer covered her face with her hands and couldn’t watch.
After the show, the team gave away and autographed postcards and posters to the crowd.
